We source of glass through Glass & Mirror, who are the leading supplier to the framing trade throughout Southern England. There are many different types of glass and our framers can help choose a suitable glass for your artwork.
Glamatt
Is a diffused reflection glass made on the rolled glass process and is suitable for general purpose work.
GM Reflection Control
A single sided acid etched diffused reflection glass, that benefits from additional ‘post production’ smoothing and polishing that produces a ‘very fine finish’. It can be used over 2 or 3 mountboards and is ideal for controlling reflections in harsh or difficult lighting conditions.
New GM WaterWhite Reflection Control
This glass has all the benefits of GM Reflection Control, but is produced onto a colourless WaterWhite float glass that offers significant improvements to colour reproduction over ordinary float glass.
Float Glass
Float glass is the top quality material and the choice for bespoke work, large panels and all high quality work.
Laminated Float Glass
Laminated float glass consists of a tough plastic interlayer sandwiched between two sheets of float glass. The plastic interlayer gives a UV filter and prevents flying glass in the event of breakage. Suitable for use in public areas where safety is important.
Diffused Float Glass
Our Inspiration NG diffused reflection glass is float glass which has been lightly acid-etched on both sides to give a very smooth even surface suitable for all including critical use.
TruVue® Reflection Control
The name says it all! The best diffused reflection (known in the USA as 'non-glare') glass you can get. Very finely etched on one side only, to give superb viewability from almost any angle, it can be used over 2 or 3 mounts without loss of definition.
TruVue® Conservation Clear
The best selling UV glass in the World. Since its introduction 13 years ago, it has become the benchmark for UV filtering. Tough UV coating on one side, plain float glass on the other. Reliable, easy to use and very competitively priced. Looks and handles like your usual float, filters 97%+ UV with no significant colour shift.
TruVue® Conservation Reflection Control
This is Reflection Control (see above) with the TruGuard® UV filtering coat on the non-etched side. The glass of choice for protecting tapestries, bridal bouquets and photographs, whilst giving a glare-free and very wide viewing angle in almost any lighting conditions.
TruVue Museum® Glass
A unique combination of UV protection and low reflectance. Still the leader after ten years. Museum Glass is used by water-colourists, cartographers, restorers and art collectors world-wide. This superb glass is costly - but its unique properties still make it great value.
